Daniel McKay - Clinical Myotherapist in Essendon
Daniel McKay
Clinical Myotherapist
Bachelor of Health Science - Clinical Myotherapy
Daniel is the founder and Principal Clinical Myotherapist at Upside, bringing over 15 years of hands-on experience to the local community. His journey in bodywork began in 2010 as a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist, a foundation that inspired him to pursue deeper clinical expertise, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Health Science in Clinical Myotherapy from the Southern School of Natural Therapies in 2014.
A lifelong passion for sports has shaped much of Daniel’s career. He has worked at grassroots local clubs and development leagues, right up to the elite AFL level with the Melbourne and Essendon Football Clubs. His diverse background includes treating everyone from world-ranked squash players and district cricketers to everyday weekend warriors. Today, Daniel channels that high-level experience into helping everyday clients with conditions and injuries ranging from stubborn headaches, lower back or hip pain, through to running-related injuries and pain stemming from overuse issues. He does this by blending an advanced understanding of musculoskeletal biomechanics with targeted trigger point therapy.
Outside of the clinic, Daniel’s life is beautifully busy. When he isn't chasing after his young twin boys or walking his Sheepadoodle, Dougie, you'll likely find him tending to his backyard veggie garden, enjoying a home-brewed coffee, or cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
Daniel is a registered member of Myotherapy Association Australia.
