What is Remedial Massage?

Remedial massage is a therapeutic form of massage aimed at addressing specific issues or injuries in the body. It involves the assessment and treatment of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissues to alleviate pain, improve flexibility, and promote overall well-being.

Remedial massage therapy uses various manual therapy techniques and treatment styles to assess and treat various injuries.

Remedial massage therapists utilize their knowledge of the human body's anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology to tailor treatment plans to each individual's needs, aiming to restore balance and function to the body while facilitating healing and enhancing overall well-being.

What does a Remedial Massage session involve?

Prior to your appointment, all new patients are required to complete a form detailing the relevant medical history and the nature of their presenting issue. This form will be conveniently sent electronically as part of your appointment confirmation email.

Your session will commence with a consultation with our experienced Remedial Massage Therapist. They will ask you a series of questions about your pain and conduct physical and range of movement testing to better understand your condition. Based on this assessment, a personalized treatment plan will be formulated to address your specific needs.

Sessions typically last between 50 to 60 minutes or 80 to 90 minutes, depending on the affected area. We recommend wearing loose clothing to ensure easy accessibility to the area being assessed and treated.

Following the session, the therapist may conduct some re-testing to assess progress. If necessary, exercises may be prescribed to support your ongoing recovery and well-being.
